This unit is a 2013 Ford F-450 Wheeled Coach Ambulance, purchased used but in excellent condition. This unit was purchased with approximately 60,000 miles. The unit is currently undergoing final touches and will soon be inspected by the West Virginia Office of EMS so that it can enter service to the citizens of Boone County. This unit will replace a 2015 Ford F-350 with nearly 350,000 miles at our Danville Station as Medic 22.
In September 2021, the BCAA added a new Critical Care Transport Truck to our fleet. This vehicle is a 2021 Ford F-450 Wheeled Coach custom unit, built to BCAA specifications to best serve the needs of our agency. This vehicle carries many features to increase both provider and patient safety. The FEMA Assistance to Firefighter's Grant provided 90% of the funding for this new ambulance, leaving the BCAA with only having to pay 10% of the total vehicle cost. FEMA provided a total of $227,636 towards the purchas of this vehicle.
This unit replaced a 2011 Ford F-450 Excellance Ambulance with nearly 300,000 miles at our Danville Station as Medic 21/CCT 1.
The replaced unit will go into rotation as a spare unit to be used when others are down for maintenance.

The BCAA is proud to announce the arrival of the newest addition to our fleet. This 2019 F350 Medix Ambulance will replace Medic 40 at our Racine Station. The current unit that serves as Medic 40 was a 2011 F450 Custom Works Ambulance with over 350,000 miles and will now become a spare unit as Unit 41. The new Medic 40 has our redesigned graphics package that serves to both give our agency a new image, and most importantly, improves visibility on the roadway to increase safety. Every inch of these graphics are reflective, allowing this unit to stand out on the roadways.
This purchase would never have been possible without the continued support of Boone County's citizens and their support of the Boone County EMS Levy. With the continued support of the EMS Levy, our agency has been able to stay current with needs of our patients and improve provider and patient safety tremendously.
The BCAA recently took delivery of a brand new, 2018 F-350 4x4 Frontline Ambulance. This unit has been assigned to Medic Station 60 in Van to replace their 2010 F-350 McCoy Miller Ambulance that had over 300,000 miles. This new unit brings a fresh new look to our fleet of ambulances with a brand new graphics design.
