Dr. Shane Bowen, MD, is the current Squad Medical Director for the Boone County Ambulance Authority. Dr. Bowen currently serves as the WVOEMS Region 2 Medical Director and functions as an emergency department attending physician for Vandalia Health across southern West Virginia.
Dr. Bowen's roots are in Boone County, where some of his family currently reside. He is a decorated officer in the US Navy and continues to serve our nation through the reserves.
Dr. Bowen oversees the agency's medical care that is provided by our EMTs and Paramedics and ensures that our providers receive the best education available to continue improving the care we provide every day.
