About Us

The BCAA serves a population of approximately 25,000 people that live and work in Boone County, West Virginia. Our services cover a large portion of US Route 119, multiple coal mining complexes, a critical access hospital, three high schools, three junior high/middle schools, and seven elementary schools. Through the summer months, our residents and tourists enjoy ATV riding, fishing, and kayaking. Our fall and winter months are enjoyed by hunters from across the area.

Formed in 1980, by the Boone County Commission, in an effort to provide much needed emergency medical services to the county. The BCAA currently employs 38 full time employees and an additional 30+/- part time employees, which include; mobile critical care paramedics, paramedics, EMTs, maintenance personnel, and administrative staff. The employees of the BCAA are what makes us who we are, each member of our team strives to provide the best care, to every patient, everyday. It is with these core values that we provide the best possible care to our patients.

The BCAA is is comprised of three divisions. Each division has assigned personnel to ensure that all aspects of Emergency Medical Services can be provided by our agency and that we accomplish our main objective, which is to provide quality emergency care and transport to the sick and injured.

EMERGENCY DIVISION

This division is the main division of our agency that is dedicated to emergency response and incident mitigation.

TRANSPORT DIVISION

This division handles the non-emergency medical transports for the BCAA. In times of large scale or wide spread emergency, this division can be absorbed by the Emergency Division to assist with emergency situations throughout the county.

ANCILLARY DIVISION

This division contains multiple smaller subdivisions that work as support staff for the entire company. This division includes the Training Department, Maintenance Department, Public Relations, and Administration.
